Improved Student Learning
Research Validates Improved Student Learning
Driving our research has been our understanding that students learn differently. Some need to hear information before it is absorbed. Others need visual cues. Some need to physically manipulate. Others have to write things down. Some see the big picture. Others start with details and build.
Our products today reflect the findings of our research. All of our products support varying learning styles:
- incorporating text
- graphics
- animation
- onscreen manipulation
- speech output
- recorded sounds
Our literacy research helped us to develop products that encourage reading comprehension, phonics, and writing for students who struggle. Our math research found that our prototype software encouraged inclusion and success in math among students with diverse learning needs.
All of our products employ universal design, in environments that automatically enable speech, single switch scanning, and creating IntelliKeys® Overlays, in addition to access by a standard keyboard or mouse, touch screen, and most currently used alternative input methods.
And all of our products serve the full spectrum of K-8 students, including achieving students, struggling students,
English language learners, and students with special needs—truly meeting the needs of today's diverse classroom.
