| Word Prediction Tab: Allow Phonetic Spelling
If the Allow Phonetic Spelling option is selected, Word Prediction suggests words that sound like what the user has typed (i.e., it bases suggestions on the correct spelling of a word, not the incorrect phonetic spelling that a user types). A list of common substitutions for phonetic spellings is included with the program. Other substitute spellings can be added. This option is useful for students who typically spell words incorrectly using phonetics. For example, if a user begins to type the word "phone" using the letter "f," Word Prediction can suggest words that begin with "ph." It can also be used for students who mistakenly enter look-alike letters (q for p, g for q, etc.). How do I pick which substitute spellings to use? How do I enter a new replacement spelling for a phonetic spelling? How do I change or delete a listing in the Phonetic Spelling dialog box? | ||
