JOHN HANZALIK AND ALAN HOOPER JOIN
INTELLITOOLS AS REGIONAL DIRECTORS
Sales staff expanded with company’s launch of
IntelliTools® Classroom Suite in K-6 education

Petaluma, California, June 3, 2004 - IntelliTools®,

for over 20 years the pioneer in learning solutions for preK-8 classrooms,
is pleased to announce two new field sales positions, effective June 1:
John Hanzalik and Alan Hooper have joined IntelliTools as Regional Directors,
Midwest and Western Regions, respectively. In a related move, Geno Arendt,
former regional sales manager, is now Senior Regional Consultant for the
Western region, reporting to Alan Hooper.

whom both men will report. “They bring the critical background of
classroom experience coupled with technology sales and integration that
best serves our customers’ needs in adopting a district-wide classroom
solution for delivering K-6 curriculum.”
John Hanzalik, Regional Director – Midwest Region
John brings over 20 years of educational publishing experience,
successfully selling into both K-12 print and technology markets. He began
his career as a certified elementary school teacher and then spent eight
years serving a number of midwestern parishes as an Ordained Clergyman.
His background in educational sales includes experience with McGraw-Hill,
Scott Foresman, and Scholastic, selling technology learning solutions
to school districts and classroom teachers throughout the Midwest, and
most recently, serving as Midwest Sales Director for Pearson Digital Learning.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Elementary Teaching K-8
from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master's of Divinity degree from
Wartburg Theological Seminary.
John will be responsible for all sales in 12 states: Illinois, Indiana,
Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio,
South Dakota, and Wisconsin. He will be based out of Chicago, Ill., and

Alan Hooper, Regional Director – Western Region
Alan began his career as a teacher of Spanish, English, and Latin
American Studies. He has been a sales representative in educational publishing
and technology sales for over 15 years, selling textbooks, curriculum
materials, and technology for the Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Publishing Co.
and Wasatch Education Co. in the western U.S.
Most recently Alan has worked in sales management and consulting with
Voyager Expanded Learning, Intellectual Development Systems, Educational
Management Group, and Academic Systems. He has worked closely with state
Departments of Education and school districts to generate funding for
Closing the Achievement Gap product sales in reading and math, focusing
on after school and summer school interventions. Additionally he has worked
with distance learning curriculum in K-12, multimedia solutions for remedial
English, math and algebra. Alan has extensive experience in selling assessmentand
prescriptive offerings in cognitive, sensory-motor, and visual/perception
areas. He holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Brigham Young University
and a Masters of Education degree from Washington State University.
