INTELLITOOLS ANNOUNCES CONTRACT WITH DOWNERS GROVE SD FOR INTELLITOOLS® CLASSROOM SUITE IN EVERY K-6 LASSROOM

District will replace Kid Pix® and HyperStudio® with IntelliTools
Classroom Suite as it upgrades to Mac OS X across the district

Petaluma, California, March 15, 2004 - IntelliTools®, Inc. (www.intellitools.com), for over 20 years the pioneer in learning solutions for preK-8 classrooms, is pleased to announce that Downers Grove School District 58 in Downers Grove, Ill., has signed a contract for district-wide implementation of IntelliTools Classroom Suite in each of its K-6 classrooms. The decision follows a successful pilot program conducted on four network servers in buildings across the district.

According to Dr. Connie Hodson, Director of Technology for Downers Grove SD, the decision to standardize on IntelliTools Classroom was driven by the district's move to Macintosh OS X and its discovery that a number of software programs were either not upgrading to OS X or had bugs that were not being corrected. Dr. Hodson oversaw the IntelliTools Classroom pilot program begun last fall at four schools in the district, involving 300 students.

"Downers Grove always looks at curriculum and what is best for our students first," Dr. Hodson explained. "And the more we looked at IntelliTools Classroom, the more we liked what we saw." By February the pilot study had gone so well that Downers Grove committed to the district-wide changeover, and by fall will be using IntelliTools Classroom in every K-6 classroom, serving 3,600 students in ten buildings, on 1,500 computers.

In implementing IntelliTools Classroom, Downers Grove will be phasing out use in K-6 classrooms of Kid Pix® and HyperStudio®.

The district has a robust program of ongoing staff development, noted Dr. Hodson, and teachers in the pilot program have already had one or two training sessions with IntelliTools Classroom. Downers Grove will provide more classes and workshops over the summer in order to have the software in use by all classrooms in the fall, she added.
