INTELLITOOLS ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF
INTELLITOOLS CLASSROOM SUITE
Exciting new product offers software environment for K-6
curriculum activities, assessments, and network storage
For Immediate Release
Petaluma, California, November 7, 2003 - IntelliTools®, Inc.
(www.intellitools.com), for over 20 years the pioneer in learning solutions
for preK-8 classrooms, is delighted to announce the release of its much-anticipated
IntelliTools Classroom Suite. Network-ready and Mac OS X compatible,
IntelliTools Classroom Suite is a software platform for delivering
K-6 curriculum aligned to content standards. Educators will use IntelliTools
Classroom Suite to boost student achievement with:
- Curriculum-Based, Standards-Aligned Activities
- Answer Tracking and Student Record Keeping
- Plus: Multimedia Authoring for Students and Teachers
IntelliTools Classroom is designed to provide schools and districts
with a platform for classroom-based activities and assessment, coupled
with multimedia authoring, that steps up with their students-from kindergarten
to middle school. Powerful yet easy-to-use, it delivers curriculum, creativity,
and accountability in one extremely flexible program.
"Schools and districts are concerned with the total cost of technology
ownership, as well as the increasing number of age-specific software programs
that need to be purchased and supported for preK-8 students," noted
Ben Cushman, IntelliTools' President. "We worked hard to make IntelliTools
Classroom the one single classroom tool investment needed to take
students from early elementary to middle school."
- It is multi-functional: providing age-appropriate, cross-curricular
classroom activities for students to practice. It offers answer-tracking
and student portfolio reporting for teachers to assess student performance.
And it provides powerful authoring capabilities for both students and
teachers to practice activities and take quizzes, explore mathematical
concepts, or create exciting multimedia projects. Users can access its
libraries of over 1,500 images, 200 sounds, 100 movie clips and 16 frame
animations, and incorporate animated graphics, digital photos, MP3 Movies,
QuickTime videos, and links to the Internet.
- It is cross-curricular: students can practice the provided
age-appropriate and standards-based activities in reading, writing,
math, social studies, and science, as well as teacher-created activities
aligned to specific curriculum goals. With the authoring tools, students
can explore and test math concepts, build critical writing skills, and
author their own multimedia storybooks, reports, and presentations.
- It provides accountability: for the first time, teachers can
give students customized cross-curricular classroom activities to practice
and track student responses. Teachers can record, report, and print
student records for student assessment. Program files and student records
can be stored on a network server, alleviating the need to collect student
data from individual computers.
IntelliTools Classroom Suite begins with the integration of three
popular teaching and learning tools:
- IntelliPics® Studio 3-a multimedia presentation tool
- IntelliMathics® 3-a virtual math manipulatives tool
- IntelliTalk® 3-a talking word processor and writing tool
More than a toolset, however, IntelliTools Classroom offers for
the first time a software platform for developing, administering, and
reporting on curriculum activities and assessments. It is designed for
district-wide deployment as well as classroom-specific use.
"We are thrilled to have been able to build a new product on the
backbone of these tools, offering for the first time answer-tracking and
record keeping for classroom activities, as well as network capability
for developing and accessing student portfolios by students, teachers,
and administrators," explained Arjan Khalsa, co-founder and CEO of
IntelliTools.
As an activity application, IntelliTools Classroom is flexible,
offering teachers the choice of using predesigned standards-aligned activities
or authoring their own. When authoring activities, teachers once again
have choice: using predesigned templates and existing graphics libraries
or designing their own from scratch.
As an authoring application, IntelliTools Classroom engages young
and older students-whether they are creating exciting multimedia presentations
using drawing, animations, video, and sound in IntelliPics Studio 3;
exploring the magic of math with virtual manipulatives in IntelliMathics
3; or composing with a word processor that combines graphics, text,
and speech in IntelliTalk 3.
Finally, IntelliTools Classroom is designed to get users up and
running in minutes: its well written Teacher's Guides are filled with
helpful hints, lesson plans, and step-by-step tutorials. Dozens of handy
templates plus QuickStart Guides are provided, and embedded help offers
ongoing and immediate assistance.
Special introductory pricing through June 30, 2004 is available for IntelliTools
Classroom for a standalone single copy, five pack, lab pack, site
license, district license, and network version. Pricing and purchasing
options can be found at the IntelliTools Web site at www.intellitools.com.
